The Lady Panthers of Fairbanks plated five runs over the fifth and sixth innings on Tuesday.
In doing so, FHS (2-0) turned back West Jefferson, 7-2.
Sarah Writesel was the winning pitcher.
She allowed six hits and fanned three.
“Sarah pitched a great game in keeping West Jefferson off-balance,” said Panther coach Amy Sines.
The contest was tied 1-1 after the first inning and 2-2 after the third.
Danelle Hoover went two-for-three at the plate and drove in a run for Fairbanks.
Gracie Pyers finished with a pair of RBIs and scored twice.
The Lady Panthers are scheduled to play at Marysville today with the first pitch set for 5 p.m.

Marysville’s junior varsity softball squad began its season with a 5-3 victory (eight innings) over Buckeye Valley.
Caitlin Rigel went the distance in the pitching circle for the Jr. Monarchs. She whiffed eight and did not walk a batter.
Mia Carder had two of MHS’ seven hits and scored twice.
