Bunsold Middle School eighth-grader Bailey Gross was the runner-up during Saturday’s Ohio High School Athletic Association state middle school cross country meet.
Gross was clocked in 12:24 during the event that was held at Fortress Obetz near Columbus.
That not only was second in her division, but was the second-best overall time involving each division.
The Lady Monarchs did not place as a team.
The Bunsold boys, however, earned a fifth-place state spot.
Earning medalist honors for top 30 finishes were Evan Donahue (14th, 11:59) and Levi Weithman (30th, 12:22).
Also scoring for the Monarch boys were Mack Weithman, Paxton Herring and Keaton Sanford.
