Cagers drop games


The Fairbanks girls basketball team dropped a 39-33 verdict to Springfield Catholic Central on Thursday.
The Lady Panthers trailed 13-8 after the opening period and 23-17 by halftime.
FHS fought back to tie the game at 30 by the end of the third set.
An ice-cold fourth quarter, however, led to defeat as the Lady Panthers (who will play at Greeneview on Saturday) tallied just three points.
Carley Lehman led Fairbanks (5-6 overall and 3-5 in the Ohio Heritage Conference) with 14 points, while Macy Miller grabbed 14 rebounds.
Miller and Elaina Lahmers both scored six points, while Megan Rausch tallied four and Bella Rowland added three.
Also playing for FHS were Emma Kugel and Lillian Miller.
Lady Cardinals fall
The LeVan sisters combined for 25 points, but Triad’s girls (2-9 overall and 2-6 in the OHC) fell to Cedarville, 54-45.
Triad led, 15-14, after the first period and the game was deadlocked at 27 by halftime.
The Indians, however, climbed to a 45-37 advantage by the end of the third stanza.
Cedarville tallied 39 of its points from beyond the three-point arc.
