The 2019-20 high school basketball season came to an end for Triad’s boys squad on Thursday.
The 23rd-seeded Cardinals fell to No. 1 Anna, 73-28, during a Division III sectional tournament game at Vandalia-Butler High School.
A three-pointer by Dillon Nott marked the only points the Cardinals (2-21) tallied during the opening quarter.
Anna held a 23-3 margin at the end of the first period and took a 46-12 margin at the halftime break.
Nott and Batai Lease both hit trifectas during the second stanza.
Ayden Spriggs tallied five of his seven points during the third quarter for Triad.
The Cardinals trailed, 62-20, by the end of the period.
Nott led Triad with nine points.
