Jack Christian set a new Marysville High School boys basketball shooting record and the Monarchs kept their Ohio Capital Conference Central Division slate clean at 7-0 during Friday’s 51-39 triumph at Central Crossing.
Christian, a junior, nailed four trifectas and overtook graduate Jevon Knox for the program’s all-time lead in made three-pointers.
Christian needed a trio of treys to surpass Knox’s mark of 133.
The sharpshooter tallied nine points during the second quarter to boost the Monarchs to a 27-18 halftime lead.
The Monarchs (9-5 overall) climbed to a 39-26 margin by the end of the third quarter.
Christian led MHS with 20 points. Joey Duke tossed in 15.
Marysville will play Triway today at 5:30 p.m.
The contest is set for Mount Vernon Nazarene University.

Wildcats remain unbeaten
North Union’s boys went on the road for a potentially difficult game at Springfield Northwestern.
The Wildcats had beaten Northwestern by just a 60-58 count on Dec. 13.
Things were much easier this time around, though, as NU rolled to a 70-52 victory.
North Union (14-0) held an 11-9 edge after the first quarter and took a 30-21 margin at the turn.
The Cats’ lead stood at 55-36 by the end of the third stanza.
Connor Terrill led North Union 13 points, followed by Preston Crabtree-11, Owen Davis-eight, Harley Day-seven, Zach Vernon-six, Trevyn Feasel-six, Aaron Krebehenne-six, Joel Krebehenne-five, Gavin Webb-five and Isaiah Radcliff-three.
The Wildcats will host Tecumseh on Tuesday.

Alder claims victory
Jonathan Alder’s boys hoop squad had another balanced scoring attack on Friday.
Henry Walker tallied 17 points, Grant Welsch scored 13 and Jackson Izzard and Jackie Santa-Emma each netted 11 during a 63-30 victory over Tecumseh.
The Pioneers (13-2) doubled their first-quarter margin on Tecumseh and took a 14-7 lead into the ensuing period.
Alder climbed to a 29-9 lead at the turn and took a 48-18 advantage into the final eight minutes of action.
The Pioneers will return to action today with an 11:30 a.m. game at Ohio Dominican.
They will face Reynoldsburg.

Cardinals fall
Triad’s boys slipped to 1-14 with a 55-35 loss to Madison Plains.
Dillon Nott led Triad with 11 points, while Ayden Sanford and Ayden Spriggs each tallied 10.
Drew Campbell and Greg Sizemore each added two for the Cardinals, who will host Fairbanks on Tuesday.
