Marysville High School officials have narrowed the candidates to three for the position of head boys basketball coach.
The position became open a few weeks ago when Ryan Gross stepped down after 11 seasons.
The finalists are Bill Romine, who is currently an assistant coach with the Thomas Worthington boys team; Mark Tinklenberg, who is an assistant boys coach at Dublin Coffman; and Jeremy Duerr, who is the boys head coach at New Lexington High School.
Romine, who is on the teaching staff in the Marysville district, served one season as the MHS girls head basketball coach during the early 2000s.
The three candidates will meet with Monarch basketball families on Tuesday.
Tinklenberg will meet with those families from 5:30-6:15 p.m.
He will be followed by Duerr, 6:25-7:10 p.m. and Romine from 7:20-8:15 p.m.
The meetings will be held in the Marysville High School auditorium.
The first 25-30 minutes will be the candidates presenting themselves.
The final 15 minutes will be an opportunity for questions and answers.
“The hope is after Tuesday night to submit a recommendation to our superintendent by Thursday prior to the May board meeting,” said Marysville High School athletic director Joey Day. “We are excited to complete this process and appreciate any feedback.”
