Reporter Mac Cordell posted an 8-1 week as his pick of the Cleveland Browns over the Colts came through.
Cordell is now 44-9 for the season and is tied for second place with sports editor Tim Miller.
Miller won seven of the nine games last week and is also 44-9 for the year.
Managing editor Chad Williamson also posted a 7-2 mark and leads Miller and Cordell with a 45-8 season record. Publisher Kevin Behrens notched a 7-2 record for the week, landing him at 41-12 for the season. The week did move him further from sports writer Sam Dillon, who has a firm hold on the basement at this point. Dillon was 6-3 and is 38-15 for the season.
All three local teams that competed in playoff games – Marysville, North Union and Triad- won.
This week, all five teams are in action as Jonathan Alder and Fairbanks come off first-round byes.
Our guest Pickers are Dave Laslow of Burger King, Dean Cook of Dean Cook Nationwide Insurance, Bob Van Hoose of Van Hoose Garage Doors and Rob Eubanks of Eubanks Electric.

Disclaimers:
Williamson: “Marysville runs into a passing team this week which always scares me. A quick score team is never out of it, and conversely, if Northmont gets out to a lead it takes Marysville’s ground game a while to reel them back in. I think if Triad simply holds its own against a perennial state power like Coldwater, it will be good for the program. The trap game this week is Fairbanks. Ft. Recovery is in a meat grinder of a league and has battled with some of the state’s best. I’m going with the Panthers, but don’t be surprised if the two-win Indians rise up.”
Miller: “Marysville is in for a battle, as is Fairbanks. I think NU and Alder roll to victories.”
Behrens: “Jim Dandy Dillon is providing a nice cushion for the rest of us now that he has a firm grasp on the bottom rung of the ladder of the Pickers.”
Cordell: “I love playoff football. I am excited about the opportunity to see one of the best linebackers in the state against one of the best quarterbacks in the state. I agree with Williamson about both Triad and Fairbanks.”
Dillon: “I am setting up camp in the basement, where I will be making all of my poor picks in the weeks to come.”
Laslow: “Good luck to the local teams!”
Cook: “Good luck to the local teams!”
Van Hoose: “Good luck to the local teams!”
Eubanks: “Good luck to the local teams!”
