A pair of Fairbanks golfers battled for top honors in the 16-18 age bracket during a junior golf tournament earlier this week.
Travis Brake and Justin Brackenridge finished regulation play of the Heart of Ohio Jr. Golf tournament at Blues Creek with matching scores of 75.
A playoff round saw Brake win the tournament on the second hole.
His scores of 37-38-75 included 13 pars and one birdie.
Brackenridge finished the day with nine pars and two birdies for second place.
Caden Fulkerson of Marysville tied with Pleasant’s Alex Pratt for third place with a 77.
Fulkerson shot 41-36 for his final score.
Fairbanks’ Logan Bocsy tied for fourth with rounds of 41-39 for an 80.
Alex Crowe of Fairbanks won the 13-15 age group.
He tallied eight pars and a birdie to finish at 39-41-80.
Andrew Crowe of Fairbanks finished with an 85, which was good for a fifth-place tie. He shot 41-44.
Tayden Peck of North Union shot a 116 (56-60), which tied him for 19th place.
Grady Wisecup of Fairbanks shot a nine-hole score of 61.
He finished fourth in the 12 and under tournament.
The next HOJGA tournament will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at the Marion Country Club.
