The Fairbanks High School wrestling team lost a home dual match against Mount Vernon Wednesday by a score of 54-30.
Out the 10 matches wrestled between the two teams, the Panthers came away with four wins by pin fall.
Dominique Coy at 145 pounds picked up the first pin for the Panthers in the first period after a lift that took down his opponent to the mat.
Coy was able to finish off the Mount Vernon wrestler quickly with a pin.
At 152 pounds for Fairbanks, Aiden Groves gave the Panthers six more points after defeating his Yellow Jacket opponent.
Groves won by pin in the final seconds of the first period.
He had gained several points by takedowns prior to the pin.
Drew Campbell at 160 pounds made short work of his bout, winning by pin fall in the first period.
Campbell jumped out to an early lead with a shot on his opponent’s legs to earn a pair of points.
The Panthers wrestler continued to keep the pace high, wearing down his opponent before going for the pin.
Tanner Conway closed out the dual meet at 180 pounds for the Panthers with a pin fall victory in the second frame.
Conway dominated his Yellow Jacket opponent. He held a 7-1 lead in the first set. Conway broke free at the start of the second period and pinned his foe after a leg sweep.

-120: Austin Coy, loss by pin fall in the first period;
-126: Hunter Lynch, loss by pin fall in the first period;

-195: Tucker Green lost by pin fall in the third period;
-220: loss by forfeit;
-285: Billy Reed-Bodey, won by forfeit.
