The varsity volleyball teams from Fairbanks and Jonathan Alder maintained perfect records in conference action on Thursday.
The Lady Panthers of FHS moved to 6-0 in the Ohio Heritage Conference with a 25-12, 25-23, 25-20 verdict at Springfield Catholic Central.
Fairbanks is now 10-1 overall.
Alder is 4-0 in the Central Buckeye Conference and overall with a 25-22, 25-23, 25-16 decision at Tecumseh.
Fairbanks stats were as follows:
-Kelsey Thorbahn: 22/22 serving, five aces, 19 points, 26/29 passing, 13/13 sets, six assists, 25/26 attacks, five kills;
-Kas. Carstensen: 7/10 serving, five points, 19/22 attacks, nine kills;
-Kai. Carstensen: 12/15 serving, four aces, 10 points, 33/34 setting, nine assists, 15/15 passing, 20/28 attacks, eight kills;
-Grace Tomblin: 37/44 passing;
-Samantha Picklesimer: 9/9 attacks, one kill;
-Piper Huston: 8/8 serving, four points, 21/32 passing;
-Mackenleigh Greene: 16/19 attacks, six kills;
-Cassie Lamb: 9/9 serving, five points, 39/41 setting, 10 assists, 8/11 passing;
-Emma Griffey: 7/9 attacks, two kills, six blocks.
JA’s state leaders were:
-Kortney Reynolds: 12 of 17 hits going for kills;
-Hunter Kaltenbach and Emma Shepherd respectively had 10 and nine digs.
“I was proud of the seniors,” said JA coach Kim Hayes. “They showed true senior leadership tonight and really dug in when they needed to for the win.”
