The Fairbanks boys soccer team played its first Ohio Heritage Conference game of the season Thursday night under the lights at Catholic Central in Springfield.
With a 4-1 win, the Panthers head into a stretch of five games in the span of 10 days.
FHS broke the seal with a goal by Cade Ziegler off a great ball in from the corner by Gage Wilson.
A foul in the box by a Fairbanks defender resulted in a penalty kick for the Irish that deadlocked the game 1-1 in the 35th minute, just before halftime.
Fairbanks had a PK opportunity, but the shot was was blocked by the SCC keeper.
The Panthers took a 2-1 advantage with 15 minutes left in the game.
Cade Feller made the most of a penality kick after the Irish were whistled for a foul in the box.
Fairbanks took a 3-1 lead several minutes later.
Cade Ziegler outmaneuvered an SCC defender and smoked the ball to the net.
The final goal came with seven minutes to play on a shot by Wilson.
The Panthers are scheduled to host Greeneview today at noon.
