Fairbanks High School senior Cross Hackathorne added another award to his basketball resume today.
Hackathorne, a 6-4 forward, was named to the Division III All-Ohio honorable mention list.
The accolade was bestowed upon him by a panel of media affiliates from around the state.
Hackathorne averaged 13 points per game this past season as the Panthers posted a 20-3 record.
Along the way, FHS captured its second Ohio Heritage Conference North Division championship in the past three years.
“Cross has been our guy to go to for scoring the past couple of years,” said Fairbanks head coach Justin George.
“He got thrown into the starting lineup a couple of years ago as a sophomore and he has greatly improved his game throughout his career.”
Hackathorne was a double-figure scorer for all three of his varsity seasons in a Panther uniform.
He averaged 10 points per game as a sophomore and around 12 as a junior.
Hackathorne, who was named to the Central District first team last month, shot 49 percent from the floor, including a solid 40 percent from beyond the three-point arc, during his senior season.
He connected on 74 percent of his free throws, while averaging nearly four rebounds per game.
“Cross has been a very reliable, coachable player,” said George.
The Panther coach said that Hackathorne is exploring opportunities to play basketball at the next level.
“I haven’t heard yet as to whether Cross has made a decision on that,” said George.
Hackathorne will have one more game to play in a Panther uniform.
He will compete in a senior All-Star game on Tuesday at Olentangy Orange High School.
