Fairbanks’ five-match winning streak was snapped by Westerville Central during a varsity volleyball match on Monday.
The Lady Panthers (9-6) fell in five sets to the Warhawks during the non-conference match.
Fairbanks won a tight battle during the initial game by a 25-23 margin.
Westerville Central roared back for a 25-11 triumph to tie the contest at 1-1.
FHS waged a fierce fight during the third game before falling 19-25.
The Warhawks (12-2) didn’t have much trouble capturing the final game by a 25-13 advantage.
Jayda Rausch and Anna Higbee both tallied eight of the Lady Panthers’ 30 kills.
Lizzie Nicol, Dani Headings, Higbee, Grace Gorton, Olivia Vollrath, Rausch, Kaelynn Sphapmixay and Ellee Johnson each served four points during the marathon match.
Nicol led the team with 15 digs, while Rausch added 13.
Sphapmixay tallied 24 of Fairbanks’ 29 assists.
Gorton topped the Lady Panthers with 31 serve receptions.
