The free throw line eventually played a big role during Triad’s girls basketball loss to Ridgemont on Monday.
The Lady Cardinals (2-11 overall and 2-7 in the Ohio Heritage Conference) made only two-of-10 from the charity stripe.
The Golden Gophers, on the other hand, connected on 15-of-28.
Ridgemont hit eight charity tosses during the fourth quarter to help seal the win.
The Gophers jumped out to a 20-15 lead after the opening quarter.
The Lady Cardinals (who will host Greeneview on Thursday) managed just a pair of points from Frani LeVan during the ensuing period.
As such, Triad trailed, 31-15, at the halftime break.
Levan and sister Cati combined for 14 points during the third quarter, enabling Triad to pull to within 40-39.
Frani LeVan tossed in eight of her team-high 23 points during the fourth set as Triad fell just short of victory.
