GANGLUFF
––––
The first round of the Lincoln Land Charity Championship on the Web.com Tour at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Illinois is in the books.
Marysville native Stephen Gangluff is tied for 38th with a 3-under 68.
Gangluff was able to sink a birdie early on the front nine, but a miscue at the 191-yard par 3 on the fifth hole put Gangluff back at even. He was able to recover and start on the back nine 1-under. On his second nine, Gangluff tallied two more birdies to finish the day at 3-under.
The former Marysville High School golfer has some ground to make up to get to the top of the leaderboard. Carlos Ortiz is leading the pack with Vince India and Jin Park, all at 7-under with a 64. Rounding out the top five are Brice Garnett and Michael Johnson, both with a 6-under 65.
The projected cut for the second round of the Lincoln Land Charity Championship is 2-under, so Gangluff will have to continue to play at his current level or he will be making an early exit.
