For some local cross-country teams, the district races are where their season has ended and for a few individuals, the season continues.
In the girl’s Division II, Central District race held at Hilliard Darby on Saturday, Morgan Hicks of Jonathan Alder took the top spot to help her team advance to the regional meet.
The Lady Pioneers finished the race with a team score of 59 points to take second place.
Bexley won the meet with a score of 41.
Hicks led the 3.1-mile race with a time of 19:14, while teammate Eliza Streit took eighth place with a time of 20:01.
Maddie Davis took ninth with a time of 20:03.
The remaining Lady Pioneer runners finished as follows:
-Evie McDaniel, 19th, 20:49;
-Avery Wynk, 22nd, 21:21;
-Reggan Gray, 26th, 21:32;
-Emma Kennedy, 29th, 22:17.
The North Union Lady Cats’ season ended at the Division II district meet, taking the eighth spot with a team score of 170.
Kendall Music was the Lady Cats’ top placer, finishing in the 21st spot in a time of 21:36.
Ashley Hayward took 28th place with a time of 21:59 and Kaylee Smith finished in 32nd with a time of 22:47.
The remaining Lady Cat runners finished as follows:
-Madelyne Liebler, 42nd, 23:23;
-Ashlee Kohler, 49th, 23:45;
-Chloe Hall, 53rd place, 23:09,
-Aunna Kasler, 62nd, 27:58.
In the boy’s’ Division II, Central District race, North Union’s Jacob Willis was able to take the last qualifying spot at 16th place to advance to the regional meet. He finished the race in a time of 17:40.
The Wildcats concluded the race in seventh place with a combined score of 201. Casey Clark took 32nd place with a time of 18:21 and Daniel Burggraf finished in 46th place with a time of 18:42.
The remaining Wildcat runners finished as follows:
-Chris Isler, 52nd, 19:06;
-Casey Rensel, 55th, 19:08;
-Caleb Isler, 61st, 19:46;
-Parker Brandt, 81st, 21:27.
The Jonathan Alder boys’ season ended at the district meet. The Pioneers finished in fifth place with a team score of 104.
Luke Goode took 17th place with a time of 17:43. Sergey Dutt finished in 18th place with a time of 17:50 and Brady Corbitt took 18th place with a time of 17:56.
The remaining Pioneer runners finished as follows:
-Jonas Watkins, 22nd, 18:07;
-Matthew Perkey, 28th, 18:16;
-Colyn McDaniel, 34th place, 18:26;
-Will Jackson, 38th place, 18:30.
In the Division III, Southwest District, Triad’s Shaylin Smiles will be moving on to the regional meet.
She took t12th place in the district with a time of 20:43.
The Lady Cardinals did not have enough runners to post a team score.
The remaining Lady Cardinals finished as follows:
-Tabitha Gaier, 61st, 26:17;
-Aliandra Yorgason, 62nd place, 26:32.
The Triad boys concluded at the district meet.
The Cardinals finished fifth with a team score of 234 points.
Cedarville won the meet with a score of 27 points.
Wyatt Robinson was the Cardinals’ top finisher taking 38th with a time of 18:56. Joe Ferguson was 47th in 19:35.
The remaining Cardinals finished as follows:
-Klinton Driscoll, 57th, 20:38;
-Zane Robison, 58th, 20:40;
-Jacon Haser, 63rd, 21:03.
North Union and Jonathan Alder will run their regional race at Pickerington North High School, while Triad will run at Troy High School. Both races are scheduled for Saturday.
