Jonathan Alder’s boys added another victim to their basketball record on Friday.
The Pioneers improved to 8-0 with a 55-26 shellacking of Kenton Ridge.
JA held the Cougars scoreless during the first period, taking a 19-0 margin into the ensuing stanza.
Alder climbed to a 35-6 spread by halftime and took a 51-14 margin into the final eight minutes of action.
Jackson Izzard led Jonathan Alder with 15 points.
Also putting the ball in the hoop were Joey Walker-eight, Taber Headings-six, Peyton Heiss, Tyler Begin and Nick Riedel-each with five, Jon Keith and Grant Welsch-both with four and Gavin Heimlich-three.

Lady Monarchs fall
Marysville’s girls slipped to 6-4 with a 44-37 setback at Olentangy.
MHS tallied only two points during the opening period on a bucket by Ava Krutowskis.
The Lady Braves held an 8-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Leah Brown scored eight of her nine points during the ensuing stanza.
That pulled Marysville to within 17-16 at the turn.
Olentangy held a 28-23 margin by the end of the third set.
Brown led MHS with her nine points.
Krutowskis, Kass Lee and Madi Sloan each scored six, followed by Ava Wilkerson and Tinley Graves-both with five.

FHS girls lose OT battle
Fairbanks’ girls hoopsters dropped a 48-46 overtime verdict at River Valley.
The Vikings held FHS (7-6) scoreless during the opening quarter.
RV took an 11-0 margin at the end of the period, but the Lady Panthers put up a fierce battle.
FHS trailed, 21-13, at the half, but pulled to within 31-29 by the end of the third set.
The score was deadlocked at 42 at the conclusion of regulation.
Carly Lehman led Fairbanks with 13 points.
She was followed by Macy Miller and Elaina Lahmers, both with eight, Emma Kugel-six, Gracie Pyers-four, Ellie Carter-three and Megan Rausch and Anna Poling-each with two.

Cardinal drop game
Triad’s boys slipped to 1-9 overall and 1-8 in the Ohio Heritage Conference.
The Cardinals dropped an 85-58 verdict to Springfield Catholic Central.
The Irish held a 15-9 margin at the end of the opening quarter and took a 39-27 spread at halftime.
Triad trailed, 63-41, by the end of the third period.
Batai Lease led the Cardinals with 17 points. He was joined in double figures by Ayden Spriggs-14 and Carson Manley-11.
Ayden Sanford tallied eight points, followed by Jacob Warner-four, Maison Johnson-three and Jalen Nott-one.

St. John’s hoopsters split
The St. John’s Lutheran School boys varsity basketball team split games this week.
The Jaguars fell to Grace Christian, 40-26.
St. John’s had no answer for Perez Nicholas, Grace Christian’s 6-5 wing. He tallied 16 points.
Jackson Burns led the Jaguars with nine points.
Sixth-grader Connor Boyd scored eight points during the fourth quarter.
Blake Gorton and Nate Fisher rounded out the scoring for St John’ respectively with five and four points.
St. John’s rebounded with a 23-20 win over the Bunsold Middle School seventh-grade Red squad.
The Monarchs trailed by two, but a final shot came up empty.
Gianni Russell then hit a free throw to seal the three-point victory for St. John’s.
Russell finished with six points.
Lincoln Thrush came off the bench to lead St. John’s with seven points.
Nate Fisher scored six, while Gorton and Burns both finished with two.
St. John’s JV team (the fifth and sixth-grade squad) beat Wellington, 25-13.
Mac Rausch led a balanced scoring attack with seven points, followed by Cody Gallmeyer-six, Matthew Kelly-five, Boyd-four and Noah Mull-three.
