Jonathan Alder’s varsity volleyball team made short work of the Columbus School for Girls Monday evening.
The Lady Pioneers opened Division II tournament action by sweeping the Unicorns, 25-8, 25-11, 25-21.
In doing so, Jonathan Alder upped its season record to 17-7.
The Lady Pioneers, who finished as runner-up in the Central Buckeye Conference’s Kenton Trail Division to London, went into the match as the No. 8 seed.
Columbus School for Girls took the No. 17 ranking into the contest.
Lizzie Lombardi led Jonathan Alder with 14 kills.
Lauren Howell topped the squad with 16 assists.
Ellie Heisler did likewise with 11 digs.
The Lady Pioneers will continue tournament competition on Wednesday.
They will travel to No. 3 seed Hamilton Township for a match that will begin at 6 p.m.
