Jonathan Alder’s girls hoopsters turned back another Columbus City League squad during Division II post-season action on Friday.
The No. 1 seeded Lady Pioneers upped their record to 21-3 with a 68-22 victory over No. 18 Columbus South.
JA opened tournament action last Monday with a 70-18 triumph over No. 19 Columbus East.
Jonathan Alder set the tone early by taking a 31-9 lead at the end of the opening period.
The Lady Pioneers’ margin expanded to 49-17 by halftime.
The running clock rule was implemented during the second half.
South was unable to score during the third quarter and trailed, 59-17, as the fourth quarter began.
Sydney Bourquin led a trio of Pioneers in double figures with 17 points.
Abby Jones tallied 16 and Melissa Walbom finished with 12.
The Lady Pioneers will return to action on Tuesday by facing seventh-seeded Bloom Carroll.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
It had not been determined by presstime where the game will be played.
