Jonathan Alder’s softball and baseball teams were able to play games on Monday at Springfield Shawnee.
Other contests involving local teams that were scheduled to be played at home were postponed due to inclement weather.
Softball
The Lady Pioneers scored a 5-0 verdict over Shawnee.
The victory improved the squad’s overall record to 18-4.
The Lady Pioneers are 14-2 in the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division.
They finished tied for first place with Kenton Ridge.
Jonathan Alder plated three runs in the top of the second and added single scores during the third and fourth innings.
Alyssa Miller turned in a stellar pitching performance.
She yielded one hit, struck out 10 and walked a pair of batters.
Riley Magginis went three-for-four at the plate and drove in a run.
Evan Platfoot tallied two hits in four at-bats and finished with three RBIs.
Shanna Higgins and Caroline Timberlake both notched a couple of hits.
Also hitting safely were Abby Bush, Kiersten Dolby, Maggie McCoy and Natalie Neumeier.

Baseball
Jonathan Alder plated three runs in the visitors’ portion of the fifth and went on to defeat Shawnee 4-0.
Ashton Martin went the distance on the mound for the Pioneers. He scattered a couple of hits, fanned seven and issued one free pass.
JA finished with five hits.
Chase Chopin, Zach Gantz, Grant Horne, Greg Kennedy and Martin each tallied one hit for Jonathan Alder.
Horne, Martin and Jace Schrock each drove in a run.
The victory puts the Pioneers’ Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division record at 15-0. They are 20-1 overall.
Jonathan Alder holds a five-game lead over Kenton Ridge in the Kenton Trail Division.
