Lady Cardinal hurlers combine for no-hitter against Greenon


Triad pitchers Joni Russell and Sidney Louck combined for a no-hitter on Tuesday.
The Lady Cardinals needed just five innings to put a 16-0 beat-down on Greenon.
Triad improved its overall record to 5-2 and its Ohio Heritage Conference mark to 4-2.
Russell started the game and was credited with the victory.
Louck came on in relief during the fourth frame.
The game lasted only five innings due to the run rule.
Triad tallied four runs in the visitors’ portion of the opening inning and pulled away with seven scores in the third.
Kristen Bailey went three-for-four at the plate, including a pair of doubles, for Triad.
Ali Cox and Olivia Butz each added two hits.
Triad will host Springfield Shawnee on Thursday.

Lady Panthers fall
Southeastern took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the first and rolled past Fairbanks, 13-2.
The Trojans plated eight runs during the second and third innings and cruised to the run-rule triumph.
Cierra Madison had two of FHS’ five hits.
April Ward started in the circle and was tagged with the loss.
She gave up nine hits in two innings of work.
Julia Cheney finished the game in relief.
The Lady Panthers (4-8 overall and 1-5 in the OHC) will host Elgin on Thursday.
