Triad’s girls hoop squad won its first game of the season by turning back Northeastern, 43-35, on Thursday.
The Lady Cardinals (1-2 overall and 1-1 in the Ohio Heritage Conference) held a 12-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and took a 20-16 margin into the halftime turn.
The score remained close with Triad holding a 33-30 edge by the end of the third set.
Cati LeVan led Triad (which will host Fairbanks at 6 p.m. on Saturday) with 18 points.
Olivia Baranova led the Lady Cardinals with 12 rebounds and LeVan added seven.
