The North Union girls basketball team will be moving on to the Division III Central District semifinals after toppling Columbus Academy, 53-42, on Saturday.
The Lady Vikings edged out the Lady Cats in the first quarter with a 10-9 score, but North Union answered back in the second quarter.
The eighth-seeded Lady Cats took a 24-23 margin at halftime.
The 14th seeded Vikings answered back in the third quarter with eight points that tied up the contest at 31-31 going into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Cats, though, saved their best offensive performance for the last quarter.
NU outscored Academy, 22-11, to take the win and keep its post season alive.
Kori Marvin led North Union with 11 points.
The Lady Cats will now move to the district semifinals against 13th seeded Northridge.
The contest will be played at Olentangy Berlin High School on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
