Elaina Lahmers tallied 14 points on Saturday as Fairbanks’ girls hoopsters clubbed Greenon, 55-29.
The Lady Panthers (8-6) held a 9-7 edge after the first quarter, but stretched their margin to 27-15 by the halftime turn.
FHS kept a foot on the throttle during the second half.
The Lady Panthers (who will host West Jefferson today) took a 40-23 lead by the end of the third quarter.
Fairbanks’ defense limited Greenon to 12 field goals in 52 attempts (23%).
FHS shot 45% (24-of-53).
A big factor in the game came on the boards.
The Lady Panthers outrebounded their opponents, 44-25. Of that total, 12 Fairbanks rebounds came on the offensive boards to keep alive scoring opportunities.
Carly Lehman and Megan Rausch followed Lahmers in scoring as both tallied eight points.
Gracie Pyers scored seven, followed by Macy Miller and Ellie Carter-both with six, and Emma Kugel, Lillian Miller and Anna Poling-each with two.

Pioneers notch easy victory
Jonathan Alder’s boys hoopsters tallied 36 points off Shekinah Christian turnovers.
As a result, the Pioneers remained unbeaten (9-0) with an 80-12 victory over neighboring Shekinah Christian.
The state-ranked (No. 6 in Division II) Pioneers held a 15-3 lead after the first period.
The Flames went scoreless during the ensuing stanza as JA took a 35-3 spread into the halftime break.
Alder’s margin grew to 58-7 by the end of the third set.
The Pioneers (who will travel to Graham on Tuesday), shot a blistering 59% (35-of-59).
Shekinah Christian sank just four-of-19 for an ice-cold 21%.
Gavin Heimlich led Alder with 12 points. He was joined in double figures by Jackson Izzard with 11.
Also putting points on the board were Joey Walker and Peyton Heiss-both with nine; Jon Keith and Nick Riedel-both with eight; Rodney Brandel-seven, Taber Headings-six and Grant Welsch and Tyler Begin-both with five.

Cats roll past Northwestern
North Union’s boys hoopsters toppled Northwestern, 66-45.
NU (9-2) held a 12-10 edge after the opening period and took a 27-24 margin at halftime.
The second half belonged entirely to the Wildcats (who will host London on Tuesday).
North Union held a 51-35 margin as action moved to the final eight minutes of action.
Zach Vernon led NU with 22 points, while Preston Crabtree tallied 16.
Trevyn Feasel and Owen Davis both notched eight points.
They were followed by Aaron Krebehenne-seven, Mason Bright-three and Max Parish-two.

Panthers triumph
Fairbanks’ boys used a strong second half to notch a 49-40 victory at Benjamin Logan.
The Raiders took a 26-19 advantage into the halftime break.
The Panthers (6-4) narrowed their gap to 33-31 by the end of the third period.
FHS (which will host Elgin on Tuesday) went on a fourth-quarter run to seal the victory.
Carter Schultz and Wyatt Miller respectively led Fairbanks with 17 and 12 points.
Braylon Green and Trey Good each scored five, Andy Higinbotham and Kyler Wilson both netted four and Grant Rausch added two.

Lady Cardinals fall
Triad’s girls slipped to 5-10 overall and 2-9 in the Ohio Heritage Conference after a 65-47 loss at Greeneview.
Frani LeVan pulled to within nine points of the 1,000 mark by scoring 13 points.
Cati LeVan added 11 points, four steals and five assists.
Emma Ferguson notched eight points and a trio of assists.
The Lady Cardinals will host Madison Plains this evening.
