Marysville’s varsity baseball team led Hilliard Darby 8-4 when the game was suspended due to darkness on Tuesday.
The contest was ruled a complete game and upped the Monarchs’ record to 7-1.
The Monarchs plated four runs in the visitors’ portion of the second inning and held a 7-3 margin after four frames.
Both teams crossed the plate once in the fifth.
MHS rapped nine hits and took advantage of three Darby fielding mistakes.
Mason Springs went three-for-three at the plate, while James Hackworth had a pair of hits in three trips to the plate for Marysville.
Also hitting safely were Griffin Scheiderer, Jake Fisher, Tyler Kesterson and Damon Wade.
Springs drove in a trio of runs, while Scheiderer had a pair of RBIs.
Tate Martino started on the mound and went three innings. He allowed a trio of hits and struck out four.
Scheiderer pitched the next three frames and yielded four hits.
Lady Monarchs top Jerome
MHS’ softball squad upped its record to 5-6 with a 14-3 verdict over Dublin Jerome.
The Lady Monarchs plated seven runs in the top of the first and pulled away for the victory.
Marysville added seven runs over the second and third innings.
Mya Segner, Ella Wood and Sydney Calhoon each tallied a pair of hits.
Segner and Calhoon both notched two RBIs.
Jose Bumgarner started the game and earned the win. She did not give up any hits.
Brooklyn Gamby allowed five hits in a relief role.
The Lady Monarch hurlers combined for four strikeouts and only one walk.
Pioneers win two
Jonathan Alder’s baseball squad upped its overall record to 4-1 and its Central Buckeye Conference mark to 2-0 with a 7-2 victory over Bellefontaine.
Alder finished the game with 11 hits, including three from Ashton Martin.
Cashton Wheeler added a pair of hits.
Jace Schrock drove in three runs.
Martin pitched six innings for the victory. He surrendered five hits, fanned nine and issued one walk.

The Lady Pioneer softball team (7-1 and 3-0) turned back Bellefontaine 12-2.
Kiersten Dolby had four hits in as many trips to the plate.
Maggie McCoy and Katelyn Rihl both had two of JA’s 16 hits.
Riley Magginis, Gracie Napier, Natalie Neumeier and Evan Platfoot each drove in two runs.
Alyssa Miller struck out nine, walked one and scattered four hits to pick up the win.
JVs triumph
The Marysville JV softball team downed Dubln Jerome by a 14-1 verdict.
Kylie Levings went the distance in the pitching circle. She struck out seven and allowed four hits.
Gwen Dyal counted a home run and triple among her four hits.
Lilly Mckinney tallied three hits, while Addison Altizer and Levings both finished with two.
