The Union County area has six high school baseball/softball teams left in post-season tournament action.
The baseball/softball squads from both Marysville and Jonathan Alder are still alive, as is the North Union softball team and the boys baseball squad from Triad.
Olentangy High School will be the location for several district semifinal games involving local teams next week.
The MHS softball squad, which has a No. 1 seed, will begin the slate with Monday’s Division I game against Westerville Central, which is the 19th-seed.
The first pitch for that game will be thrown at 7 p.m.
Tuesday will feature a full slate of action.
Olentangy High School will be the site of three games on that day.
Jonathan Alder’s softball team (No. 2) will play in a Division II game at 5 p.m. The Lady Pioneers will play against No. 9 Buckeye Valley.
That game will be followed by North Union’s Division III district semifinal contest.
The top-seeded Lady Cats will take on No. 11 Elgin at 7 p.m.
Jonathan Alder’s baseball team will play on Olentangy’s home diamond at 5 p.m. in Division II action.
JA, which is seeded fourth, will face Columbus Bishop Hartley, the No. 6 seed.
Marysville’s baseball team will make the short trip to Dublin Coffman for Tuesday’s Division I district semifinal game.
The Monarchs, who are ranked 16th, will face No. 3 Grove City at 5 p.m.
Triad’s baseball team will travel to Sidney High School for Wednesday’s Division IV Southwest District game.
The Cardinals, who are the fourth seed, will tangle with No. 2 Fort Loramie.
