The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association made their sixth of seventh stop, this time at Sycamore Creek in Galion. Out-of-towner and Fairbanks student, Justin Brackenridge was able to break into the top three with an 11-over 82 and missed out on the top spot held by the Galion local Jack McElligott with a 9-over 79.
Brackenridge played fairly clean on the front nine holes slipping up only a few times to put himself at 5-over at the midway point.
Brackenridge’s struggles came on the back nine when the Panther’s golfer scored over par on the last five holes of the course to finish his round with an 82.
Todd Crowe II, of Fairbanks, was able to turn a 15-over 86 to claim the sixth spot in the 16-18 age category. Crowe started out his day in the hole when he scored a 4-over on the par four hole one. Crowe was able to rebound slightly when he found the bottom of the cup early on the par five hole 13 to claim his only birdie of the day.
Fellow Fairbanks golfer Aidan Wilson struggled with the course at Sycamore Creek as he wrapped up his day with a 31-over 102 to claim the 14th spot in the 16-18 age group.
Alexander Crowe turned in a 35-over 106 to finish up in the ninth place in the 13-15 age group while Andrew Crowe followed closely with a 39-over 110 to finish in 11th.
The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association will wrap up their season at Valley View Golf Course in Galion on Wednesday.
