Local golfers at top of pack in junior golf association


The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association made their fifth stop of the season at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Kenton on Thursday where local golfer Justin Brackenridge of Fairbanks was able to card a 39-39-78 to end his day in second place behind the course leader Mallory Graham of Mt. Gilead. Graham won the tournament with a 35-28-73 to finish one over par.
Brackenridge was able to able to find the bottom of the cup within par on nine different holes will finish the seventh hole with a birdie.
Emily Wilson, also of Fairbanks, found herself in sixth place to finish the day with a 44-40-84 to put her at 12 over par. Wilson was able to collect six pars and a birdie during the contest.
Aiden Wilson, of Fairbanks, was able to stroke a 46-43-89 to finish the tournament with a 17 over and the ninth spot out of a field of 16 golfers in the 16-18 Division. Aiden carded six pars on the Memorial Park course.
Seth Payne, of Fairbanks, was able to card a 47-44-91 to finish the day in the 11th spot.
Logan Bocsy, of Fairbanks, landed in the fourth spot of the 13-15 Division after carding a 45-40-85 to finish with a 13 over par, putting him four strokes behind the division winner, Nathan Stewart, who carded a 42-39-81.
Bocsy was able to find the bottom of the cup twice for par and birdied the 13-hole par 3 to end his day.
Alexander Crowe, also of Fairbanks, was able to finish his day with a 46-42-88 to finish in seventh place out of a field of 20 golfers within the division.
After five events of the tour Brackenridge is leading the pack with 82 points in the 16-18 Division, with Graham in second with 71 points.
Bocsy finds himself in second place in the 13-15 Division of the tour with 68 points only four points behind Stewart.
The tour will make their next stop at Whetstone in Marion.
