The Jonathan Alder Pioneers have one wrestler still in the hunt for a Division II Central District title.
Reece Chapman (106) won his opening two matches to advance to the semifinals against Brady Fischer of London.
The remaining five wrestlers the Pioneers sent to the district meet moved on to the consolation bracket.
Xavier Pierce (113) lost a 9-4 decision in his opening round, but picked up a pinfall victory over Andrew Collins of Milton-Union in his second match to remain on track for a state tournament berth.
Micheal Boggs (195) also lost in opening bout by a 10-6 verdict, but followed up with a pin in 56 seconds over Blake Reed of Bethal-Tate to remain in the tournament.
Only the top four wrestlers from each weight class will advance to the state tournament.
Eli Trbovich (120), Josh Proper (126) and Oliver Byerly (132) were eliminated from the tournament after losing their first two matches.
In Division III wrestling, North Union and Fairbanks represented Union County at Heath High School.
The Wildcats sent Trace Williams at 106 pounds, Gabe Hansen-Jackson at 120 and Skyler Cowgill at 170.
The trio of wrestlers all lost their opening round bouts by pinfall. That pushes them into the wrestle-backs.
Williams will face Ethan Boni of Malvern. Hansen-Jackson will tangle Joey Young of Meigs and Cowgill will dual with Christopher Aubrey-Biggie of Toronto today.
The Panthers are represented by Teagan Green at 120 pounds, Andrew Halterman at 160 pounds and Billy Reed-Bodey at 285 pounds.
Green lost a 10-5 decision to Drake Kanyuch of Shenandoah and Halterman dropped a 2-1 decision to Chris Parker of Toronto in their opening rounds.
Green will face Kellen Dornon of Barnesville, while Halterman will square up against Skyler Hatten of Bridgport in today’s wrestle-backs.
Reed-Bodey is still in the hunt for a district title.
He captured his opening two bouts by pins to move to the semifinals against Easton Hitchens of Shenandoah.
The Triad Cardinals sent four wrestlers to the Southwest Division III district tournament at Troy High School.
They were Coleman Hauck (145), Blake Boldman (152), Dalton Overfield (160) and Isaiah Leasure (170).
Triad now has all its hopes resting on Leasure, who won his opening match against Austin Vorshall of Springfield Shawnee by pin fall.
Leasure then went up against Chase Martin of St. John’s in his second bout.
Leasure lost an 8-5 tie-breaker to Martin, pushing him into the consolation bracket, he will face Mason Rhodes of Kenton today.
Hauck dropped his first match to Peyton Lane of National Trail by a 15-0 technical fall. He then fell to Jacob Groeber of Clermont by pinfall in 3:27 to end his season.
Boldman lost to Jake Mumper of Cincinnati Roger Bacon by pin.
He then fell to Reece Evans of Ada by pin fall in 4:04 to conclude his season.
Overfield lost by pin to Blake Hershberger of Allen East in the opening round. Overfield was eliminated from the tournament after losing to Albert Corey of Clermont by pin fall in 1:30.
All district meets will conclude today.
