The search for the next Marysville High School athletic director has been narrowed to four candidates.
The position is open, beginning with the 2019-20 academic year, as current AD Ryan Walker is set to become the district’s new director of operations.
Walker’s new position is pending approval by the board of education.
He would replace Mike White, who recently announced his retirement from the district.
The final four candidates for the athletic director job are Sean Kearns, Craig Ulland, Joey Day and Heath O’Neal.
They are among the more than 40 persons who applied for the position.
Kearns is currently the athletic director at Marion Harding High School.
He had previously applied for the Monarch AD position a couple of years ago.
Ulland is the athletic director at Cincinnati Colerain High School.
Day is the athletic director at Kenton High School.
O’Neal is an athletic director with the Dublin City Schools.
The candidates will continue their interviews with district administration.
Lynette Focht, the district’s director of Human Resources, said the candidates will meet in the near future with superintendent Diane Mankins.
Focht wrote in an e-mail to the Journal-Tribune that the district’s goal is to have a recommendation for hire at the June meeting of the board of education.
