A 10-0 victory over Delaware Hayes on Monday evened Marysville High School’s baseball record at 2-2.
Aiden Kersten went the distance on the hill for the Monarchs.
He scattered four hits, fanned four and issued one free pass.
Ashton Schmutz and Christian Colvin both had two of the Monarchs’ 12 hits.
Colvin drove in four runs, while Jack Christian and Chase Storr both had a pair of RBIs.
The Monarchs will host Hilliard Bradley on Wednesday.

Lady Cats triumph
The North Union softball team worked past Central Buckeye Conference opponent Graham with ease with a 12-2 win.
The Lady Cats got their bats working early as they leaped out to a 3-0 lead.
Kennady Ruhl blasted a two-run homer in the first inning.
That lead was expanded in the third inning to 4-0,
The fourth inning, though, is where the Lady Cats poured on eight runs.
Graham answered with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning.
NU’s 10-run spread was enough to end the game early as NU increased its record to 3-1.
Regan Martino also had a solid day at the plate, going three-for-four with two RBIs. Cagney Stewart also added a pair of RBIs, going two-for-two at the plate.
Bailee Amstutz pitched a complete game.
She notched three strikeouts and gave one hit.
North Union is scheduled to return to action today against Dublin Coffman.

Squads drop games
Fairbanks’ softball squad dropped a 14-4 verdict to Mechanicsburg.
The Lady Panthers (2-3) plated their runs over the fourth and fifth innings.
Mechanicsburg tagged FHS pitcher Julia Cheney for 14 hits. She walked three and fanned one.
Sarah Writesel tallied two of Fairbanks’ six hits. She also drove in a pair of runs.
The Lady Panthers will travel to Triad today.
FHS’ baseball team also fell to Mechanicsburg, 17-7.
The Indians clubbed Panther hurler Ryker Beaty for 12 hits.
Fairbanks’ defense also committed five fielding miscues.
Nathan Combs went three-for-three at the plate for the Panthers (2-3), who will travel to Triad today.

Triad’s softball squad dropped an 11-2 verdict to West Liberty-Salem.
The Lady Cardinals (0-6) held a 2-1 edge after four innings.
The Lady Tigers, however, plated 10 runs during the sixth and seventh.
Lillian Greene went two-for-three at the plate.
Joni Russell was the losing pitcher.
