Marysville’s girls varsity tennis team opened the season on Friday with a 4-1 victory over Mt. Vernon.
In singles action, Emma Pzedpelski (M) beat Justine Hall 6-0, 6-2, while Hanna Hogan (M) topped Lucy Ogle 6-3, 6-1.
Both of the Lady Monarchs’ doubles teams won.
Ellie Williams and Maddie Blaisdell downed Emma Annett and Molly Chloe 6-2, 6-2.
Krista O’Shelski and Caitlee Hill beat Kaylee Barker and Ann Dinnen 6-0, 6-1.
The lone MHS setback came at third singles when Alyssa Scott fell to Marsh Staats 5-7, 4-6.
The MHS JVs beat the junior Yellow Jackets, 5-0.
