Marysville slated to host state semifinal football contest


Although the football season has now ended for Union County-area teams, there will still be one more game to be played on a local field.
Marysville High School has earned a playoff state semifinal game.
MHS will host a Division IV state semifinal on Saturday.
The teams from No. 1 Cincinnati Wyoming and No. 8 Clyde will battle with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
Wyoming will be the home team.
The game will be the second post-season football contest to be played at Marysville.
The second week of the playoffs saw Springfield defeat Dublin Jerome in a Division I regional semifinal contest.
The Ohio High School Athletic Association will pay Marysville approximately $4,000 for use of the field.
The Monarch boosters will keep the revenue generated from concession stand sales.
