Marysville’s varsity volleyball squad dropped a hard-fought 20-25, 18-25, 24-26 verdict to state-ranked Dublin Coffman on Monday.
“The girls took the court with a new-found confidence that has not been there when going up against the Shamrocks in the past,” said MHS coach Bethany Bentz.
The Lady Monarchs found a strong rhythm during the third set, forcing Coffman to earn extra points to close out the match.
Carys Gossett led MHS with eight attacks.
Rylee Dundon finished with seven, while Madison Fluharty and Jillian Gardner both tallied five.
Katie Palmer led with 15 assists and Morgan Shick notched 17 digs.
The Lady Monarchs (8-6) will play at Dublin Jerome this evening.
That match will be the second of three competitions this week for the Lady Monarch program.
Marysville will close out the week on Thursday with a road contest at Hilliard Darby.
