Several Marysville High School athletes competed in an indoor track and field meet over the weekend at the Ohio State University.
A handful placed in the top 24 of their events and qualified for the state indoor meet that will be held on Saturday, March 2 in Geneva.
Katie Miller placed second in the triple jump at 31-1.5 and set a new school indoor mark in the long jump.
Her long jump effort of 15-4.5 not only established a new school standard, but also allowed her to place fourth.
Blake Angel was second in the boys’ triple jump at 37-9, while Nick Marinelli was fifth at 35-0.5.
Jacob Ranker was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a clocking of 8.54 and eighth in the 60-meter dash at 7.33.
Jacquelyn Witt scored a pair of fifth-place finishes.
She was timed in 5:39.64 for the 1600 meter run and in 2:31.99 during the 800 meter.
Prior to the state meet, the Monarchs will compete in the Akron City Open on Saturday.
