Marysville’s varsity baseball squad upped its record to 6-4 with two recent victories.
The Monarchs beat Grove City, 3-1, and turned back Westland by the same score.
MHS tallied all the runs it would need in the bottom of the first on Saturday against Grove City.
The Greyhounds scored their lone run in the third.
Trey Storr notched the win for the Monarchs. He did not walk a batter.
Matt Belt went two-for-three at the plate for MHS.

The Monarchs were once again involved with a pitchers duel against Westland on Monday.
Dominic Smith scattered three hits to pick up MHS’ victory. He fanned five.
Blaine Williams pitched one inning in relief.
Chase Kilgore had two hits for the Monarchs, who will play at Central Crossing on Wednesday.

Lady Monarchs win
Emily Daniel, Genesis Brooks, Leah Potter and Ashley Dunn each rapped three hits as Marysville’s varsity softball squad rolled past Olentangy Liberty, 11-2, on Monday.
The setback was Liberty’s first of the season in six games.
MHS (8-4) clubbed Liberty pitching for 18 hits and also took advantage of six Patriot fielding miscues.
The Lady Monarchs held a 6-0 lead after the visitors’ portion of the third and carried a 9-1 margin into the fifth frame.
Marysville added a pair of runs in the top of the seventh.
Brooks drove in two runs, as did Tayler Clabaugh.
Sydney Wade and Izzy Shroyer each had two hits.
Also hitting safely were Lexi Williams and Clabaugh.
Shroyer struck out seven and did not walk a batter during her four innings in the circle.
Abby Gindelsberger struck out two during a three-inning relief stint.
The Lady Monarchs will host Westland on Wednesday.

Lady Cats roll to eighth victory
North Union’s softball team upped its record to 8-1 with a 5-1 triumph over Northwestern.
The Lady Cats, who have been finding ways to score early, followed suit for this contest by plating an early run in the bottom of the first inning.
NU with another run in the third before the Lady Warriors got on the scoreboard to make it a 3-1 game after 3 1/2 innings.
The Lady Cats answered with two runs to widen the gap and plated a little insurance in the bottom of the fifth to win the game.
Josie Duncan picked up the complete game win inside the circle to increase her record to 6-1 for the season.
Kennady Ruhl had a .500 day at the plate with two hits and a pair of RBIs.
Regan Martino went two-for-four with two ribbies.
Destiny Reebel also picked up an RBI on one hit.
North Union will return to action on Wednesday at Northwestern.

JA squads triumph
The Lady Pioneers upped their record to 6-1 with a 6-0 triumph over Kenton Ridge.
Marlee Jacobs limited Kenton Ridge to just four hits.
Alder held a 1-0 lead until Lindsey Potter blasted a three-run homer in the visitors’ portion of the third.
JA added a pair of runs in the fifth.

Lady Panthers fall
The Lady Panthers of Fairbanks fell in six innings to Mechanicsburg by a 13-1 count.
FHS (4-7 overall and 1-4 in the Ohio Heritage Conference) managed just one hit, a solo homer by Cierra Madison in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Julia Cheney started in the circle for Fairbanks and gave up nine hits in four innings.
April Ward yielded the same number of hits during two frames.
The Lady Panthers will travel to Southeastern today.

Tigers down Triad
The Lady Cardinals were limited to just two hits during a 7-0 loss to West Liberty-Salem.
Kendall Hughes had both of Triad’s hits.
Joni Russell was tagged with the loss. Sidney Louck pitched in relief.
Triad slipped to 4-2 overall and 3-2 in the Ohio Heritage Conference with the loss.
The Lady Cardinals will travel to Greenon today.
