Marysville’s girls soccer team won its Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division opener on Tuesday.
The Lady Monarchs (3-6-1) edged Hilliard Darby, 1-0.
Gab Lee scored the only goal MHS would need within a minute after checking into the game.
Her shot from outside the 18-yard-line provided Marysville with enough cushion to win.
Brielle Young turned back five Darby shots on goal in the net.
The Lady Monarchs will return to action by hosting Reynoldsburg on Saturday.
The junior varsity match will begin at 3 p.m., followed by varsity action at 5 p.m.
Lady Panthers fall
Fairbanks’ girls dropped a 3-0 verdict to Worthington Christian.
The Lady Panthers are now 5-2-0 overall.
Madi Cook tallied six saves for FHS, which will travel to Southeastern on Thursday.
