The Marysville High School varsity boys golf team shot its best score to date of the season on Wednesday during the annual Monarch Invitational.
The Monarchs carded a 338 and finished 11th during the event that was held at Darby Creek Golf Club.
Olentangy Berlin won the championship with a 295, followed by Olentangy Liberty-304, Hilliard Davidson A-309, Hilliard Bradley-311, Bexley-313, Big Walnut-317, St. Charles-321, Worthington Christian-322, Columbus Academy-324, Hilliard Darby-334, Marysville A-338, Mt. Vernon-340, Dublin Scioto-356, Granville-360, Amherst-367, Marysville B-394 and Hilliard Davidson B-398.
Chris Borjas led MHS’ varsity with an 83.
Gavin Cossette shot an 84, followed by Dylan DeLauter-84 and Sameer Parashar-87.
Caden Fulkerson led the Jr. Monarchs with a 79.
JA claims victory
Jonathan Alder’s boys carded a team score of 315 to capture the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division preseason event.
Bellefontaine finished four strokes back with a 319, followed by Kenton Ridge-343, Shawnee-343, Tecumseh-357 and London-372.
Graham shot a 319 to win the Mad River Division.
Benjamin Logan was second with a 334, followed by North Union-366, Urbana-368, Northwestern-384 and Indian Lake-390.
Alder’s Mychal McKelvey was the medalist in the Kenton Trail Division as he shot a 71.
Other Pioneer scores were Hayden Mitchell-76, Tyler Hilbert-84 and Chase Pond-84.
