She was recently named as a recipient of the OHSAA’s Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award for the 2018-19 season.
The OHSAA names recipients to the honor from each boys and girls sport.
The organization picks the winners on the recommendation of the coaches associations of sports that are sanctioned by the OHSAA.
Award winners are selected for their example of the values of sportsmanship, ethics and integrity through the way in which they conduct their professional responsibilities and their service as role models to others.
Calvert has been active in gymnastics for more than 35 years as both an athlete and coach.
She has been working with the Union County YMCA gymnastics program for 10 years and has also coached the Shining Stars Gymnastics program for eight years.
