A trio of local high school golf teams will take to the course at Darby Creek on Wednesday for the annual Marysville High School boys invitational.
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The Monarchs will field A and B squads, while Fairbanks is also in the 15-team field.
Other teams scheduled to compete include Amherst, Big Walnut, Hilliard Bradley, Hilliard Darby, Hilliard Davidson A, Hilliard Davidson B, Mechanicsburg, Mount Vernon, Olentangy Liberty, Columbus St. Charles, Worthington Christian and Columbus Academy.
“I think St. Charles and Olentangy Liberty are the favorites (to win the tournament), along with Amherst,” said Marysville head coach Jon Wing. “I’m not sure of a specific place we will finish compared to the field. However, our team goal this year is to be under 330.
“The weather looks great (for Wednesday) and I expect us to be under our goal.”
The Monarch varsity will be led by seniors A.J Fisher and Dylan Tremayne, along with junior Chris Borjas.
The B squad will be primary comprised of freshmen.
“We have a strong class with seven freshman who can all play,” said Wing.
