The Monarch cross-country teams competed in the Ohio Capital Conference Cardinal Division meet on Saturday.
The Lady Monarchs placed third, one point behind Thomas Worthington.
The boys claimed fifth-place honors.

Girls
-Dublin Jerome-54, Thomas Worthington-66, Marysville-67, Olentangy Berlin-74, Hilliard Darby-88 and Olentangy-162.
Boys
-Dublin Jerome-24, Olentangy-70, Thomas Worthington-77, Olentangy Berlin-88, Marysville-93 and Hilliard Darby-145.

Girls
-Bailey Gross, third, 18:51.5; Bryn Hothem, fifth, 20:123; Emerson Bautsch, eighth, 20:46.6; Alyssa Rodman, 24th, 21:36.5; Ava Elliott, 27th, 21:44.2; Kylie Andrews, 30th, 21:52.9; Kaylee Morton, 32nd, 21:59.5; Ashley Boston, 40th, 22:51.2; and Haylee Huffman, 43rd, 23:03.8.
Gross and Hothem earned first-team OCC honors, while Bautsch was named to the second team.
Boys
-Preston Herring, third, 16:06.8; Jack Flanagan, 12th, 16:29.2; Brian Boston, 16th, 16:35.0; Tyler Heap, 31st, 17:18.5; James Heap, 36th, 17:29.8; Blake Murgatroyd, 39th, 17:35.7; Lane Coil, 39th, 17:35.7; Levi Weithman, 41st, 17:36.6; Aiden Grome, 45th, 17:53.8; and Cannon Moser, 49th, 18:04.2.
Herring earned OCC first-team accolades.
Flanagan was named to the second team and Boston earned honorable mention.
“The girls ran an assertive race and did a nice job working the middle of it,” said Marysville head coach Luke Sundermeier. “There’s plenty of room for improvement as they head toward their big goals later this month.
“The boys took a big step forward and build confidence heading into the district meet,” he said. “We will continue on closing some gaps in the pack and move forward together.”
The Division I district meet will be held Saturday at Hilliard Darby.
The Lady Monarchs will compete at 2:30 p.m., followed by the boys at 4 p.m.
The top five teams and top 20 individuals will advance to regional competition the following week.
