Marysville’s girls and boys swimming teams competed in the annual Neb Reed Memorial Invitational on Saturday at The Ohio State University.
The meet was divided into A and B flights.
The A flight required that swimmers competing had met the qualifying times to compete, while the B flight allowed all the swimmers who did not meet the qualifying time standard to compete at a separate time.
The Lady Monarchs placed 29th out of the 52 teams that competed in the A flight.
MHS results for that flight were as follows:
-200 yard medley relay: 16th, (Mikayla Seman, Rachel Poling, Morgan Grawe, Diana Jimenez), 1:57.42;
-200 yard freestyle: Seman, 38th, 2:09.42;
-50 yard freestyle: Grawe, 46th, 27.43;
-100 yard butterfly: Grawe, 42nd, 1:04.66;
-100 yard freestyle: Poling, 20th, 57.07;
-500 yard freestyle: Seman, 22nd, 5:46.58;
-100 yard breaststroke: Poling, 12th, 1:10.25;
-400 yard free relay: 19th, (Grawe, Seman, Jimenez, Poling). 4:00.06.
“We had a very good meet this year, both within the A flight and B flight competitions,” said coach Craig Faircloth. “This year within the A flight competition, Rachel Poling qualified into the finals (top 20 prelim times) in both the 100 free and 100 breaststroke events and both of our girls relays (200 medley and 400 free) qualified into the finals.”
The majority of MHS’ girls squad and the boys team competed in the B flight and recorded huge time drops, according to Faircloth.
No results from the B flight were reported.
