The Marysville Monarch swimming squads placed second overall out of 17 teams and more than 300 swimmers at Saturday’s Central Ohio Splash held at Thomas Worthington High School.
Monarch athletes recorded more than 31 personal best times and 15 season-high efforts.
“This meet was truly a display of great sportsmanship,” said MHS coach Beth Seman. “All the teams were cheering each other on and really supporting one another.
“Every single swimmer on our team had some type of personal breakthrough,” she said. “There was such excitement among the team. I’m so proud of how far we’ve come this season and it really sets us up well for the championship meets that are just around the corner.
“This team has worked hard and we are ready to ride this wave and show the other area teams we are a force to be reckoned with,” said the coach.
MHS swimmers placed first as follows:
-Girls 200 medley relay: 1:58.15 (Mikayla Seman, Molly Gregory, Morgan Grawe, Alekah Daniels);
Boys 200 medley relay: 1:49.80 (Aron Moledor, Hank Luther, Ethan Turk, Shane Hothem.

-Third: Graw, 2:11.70.

-Fifth: Moledor, 1:59.48.
