Marysville school district employees and/or other football workers will be put to use Friday evening when a Division I state playoff game will be held on MHS’ new turf field.
No. 4 Dublin Jerome (9-2) will tangle with No. 1 Springfield (10-1) with the kickoff slated for 7 p.m. at the neutral field site.
The contest will be the regional semifinals for Region 2.
Marysville was awarded the playoff game over the weekend by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
The OHSAA will reimburse the district for expenses it incurs for items such as paying for staffers and electricity on the field.
“We will supply workers such as the clock operator and spotters,” said Marysville High School athletic director Joey Day.
The high school sports governing body will reimburse the district approximately $4,100 to cover those costs, according to Day.
The district will be able to keep money generated through concession stand sales.
Ticket sale money will go directly to the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
