Wildcats fall in pitching battle
North Union’s baseball team found itself in a pitcher’s duel Wednesday against Indian Lake.
Each side could only muster four hits apiece.
However, it was the Lakers who plated a pair of runs in the fourth inning that would prove to be enough to take the 2-0 verdict.
Mason Bright got the nod to start on the hill for the Wildcats,
He went the distance and fanned six.
Lakers’ pitcher Gavin Lones earned the complete-game win with 14 strikeouts.
Neither team could put runs on the board until the fourth when Indian Lake plated both of its scores.
Trevyn Feasel, Evan Hoffer and Grayson Beeney tallied North Union’s hits.
The Wildcats are now 4-10 in the Central Buckeye Conference and 6-13 overall.
North Union is scheduled to return to action Friday by hosting London.
