The Lady Cats of North Union topped Kenton in a 3-0 sweep during volleyball action on Thursday.
The Lady Cats went on the road for their third contest of the season and took the trio of sets by scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-10 to increase their record to 2-1.
Journey Blevins tallied 18 kills as the middle hitter for the youthful Cats, while junior hitter/setter Jordyn Hoffman tacked on three more kills.
Hoffman added three aces from the service line, while Grace Brandt put up four ace serves.
Assisting from the back line, Kayla Sedgwick picked 15 digs off the floor, while Hoffman, Blevins and Brandt teamed up to notch 23.
Grason Ingles set up the heavy hitting Lady Cats for 11 assists, while Hoffman added six.
The Lady Cats will return to action Saturday when they host London in a Central Buckeye Conference crossover match at 11 a.m.
Lady Panthers triumph
Fairbanks’ volleyball squad defeated Mechanicsburg earlier this week.
Scores were 25-19, 25-20, 25-21.
Kaidie Carstensen and Anna Higbee each tallied four kills.
Taylar Sphapmixay finished with six assists and Higbee served nine points.
Olivia Vollrath added eight points.
Marysville Monarchs fall
Marysville’s varsity spikers fell to Westerville North during a five-set marathon.
The Lady Monarchs won the first game by a 25-21 verdict, before the Warriors tied the match with a 25-22 win.
Marysville battled back from a 10-point deficit to win the opening game.
MHS took a 2-1 lead by downing North in the third set, 25-16.
Westerville North tied the match at 2-2 with a 25-17 triumph.
The Warriors then claimed the overall victory with a 16-14 verdict.
There were numerous lead changes during the final set.
Kaitlyn DeLauter topped MHS with 17 kills, followed by Carys and Rhiannon Gossett with a combined 13.
Larissa Smith provided a strong front wall with seven blocks and Morgan Shick contributed 13 digs.
