The North Union bowling teams placed first and second at the Mid Ohio Athletic Conference Championship at Cooper Lanes on Saturday.
The Lady Cats claimed the top spot to win their first-ever conference championship with a team score of 3329, while the boys finished as runners-up with a team score of 3662.
Marion Harding took first place in the boys tourney with a team score of 4028.
NU coach Brent Markham, said he was “honored” to be leaving the MOAC as champions.
North Union will join the Central Buckeye Conference next year.
Aliyia Nicol was the top performer for the Lady Cats, tallying a three-game total of 549. The remaining scores for the ladies team were not available at the time of publication.
Matt Quigley was the Wildcats’ top performer for the boys, rolling a three-game total of 559. Blain Keckler tallied a 545. Connor Brandt turned in a three-game total of 544. Grant Daum rolled a 505, while Riley Young collected 298 pins over two games. Matt Millington came in for Young to tally a 111 during one game.
Both teams will compete at the Central District Sectional tournament at HP Lanes. The boy’s team will compete on Friday with the ladies to bowl on Saturday.
