North Union will have new leaders for its girls and boys basketball programs for the upcoming season.
Bre Jackson, who has been the Lady Cats coach for six years, and Ryan Grose, the boys coach the past two seasons, have each stepped down.
Jackson has taken a job within Dublin City Schools and it was announced on Thursday that Grose was hired as the new boys basketball coach at Findlay High School.
Jackson had a 92-48 overall record as North Union’s coach and a mark of 51-9 within the Central Buckeye Conference.
She led the Lady Cats to four CBC Mad River Division titles.
Pending board approval during the middle of June, Mitchell Loomis will become the NU girls basketball coach.
The past two years, Loomis was the boys junior varsity coach and prior to that was a coach in the North Union Middle School program.
Grose, who previously coached 11 years at Marysville, posted an overall record of 29-19 and 12-8 in the CBC the last two years.
Athletic director Nick Hajjar said North Union has begun its search for the new boys coach.
In addition to the basketball positions, North Union will also be seeking a new baseball coach.
Nick Blakeley stepped down as coach at the end of the 2024 season to devote more time to family.
Blakeley led the Wildcats to their first-ever CBC Mad River title this past season and first league title of any kind since 2011.
