Fairbanks’ boys basketball team notched a 57-56 victory over Benjamin Logan.
The Raiders held a 16-14 edge after the opening period and took a 28-25 margin at the halftime break.
Alex Crowe tallied nine points and Cade Ziegler added seven as the Panthers caught fire during the third stanza.
FHS held a 47-39 lead by the end of the quarter and withstood the Raiders’ rally in the fourth set.
The Panthers won despite hitting only two free throws in 16 attempts.
FHS improved to 8-6 with the victory.
The Panthers will play at state-ranked Springfield Catholic Central tonight.

Lady Monarchs top DeSales
Marysville’s girls upped their record to 12-3 with a 42-26 verdict over DeSales.
The game was part of the Capital City Classic at Ohio Dominican University.
DeSales trailed 12-4 after the opening quarter.
The Lady Monarchs (who will host Hilliard Darby on Friday) took a 22-7 lead at the halftime turn.
MHS led, 31-16, by the end of the third quarter.
Ava Krutowskis and JoJo Eberhart led the Lady Monarchs as they each tallied 11 points.

Bishop Watterson nipped Jonathan Alder’s boys, 45-44, during a game that was played at Ohio Dominican University.
The contest was part of the Capital City Classic.
JA led, 12-10, after the first quarter.
The contest was tied at 22-all by halftime.
Alder held a 32-29 edge going into the final eight minutes of action.
Both teams shot well during the game. The Eagles hit 18 field goals in 30 attempts for 60%. The Pioneers shot 50% (14-of-28).
Watterson tallied 10 points off JA turnovers.
JA could not score after Eagle miscues.
Peyton Heiss led Alder with 16 points.
Taber Headings and Joey Walker each scored 11.
Grant Welsch and Tyler Begin both added three.
The Pioneers are now 8-4 on the season.
They will host Graham this evening.

Lady Panthers drop game
Fairbanks’ girls dropped a 52-45 verdict at Greenon.
FHS trailed 13-8 at the end of the opening period and 21-18 at halftime.
The Lady Panthers were behind 38-31 by the end of the third quarter.
Macy Miller and Elaina Lahmers both tallied 10 points for Fairbanks.
They were followed by Carly Lehman-nine, Ellie Carter-seven, Reese Poling-five and Anna Poling-four.
Fairbanks (13-3) will play at Northeastern on Wednesday.

NUMS teams win
Kennedy Harrah netted 26 points in leading North Union Middle School’s eighth-grade girls basketball team to a 59-20 victory over Grant Middle School.
Kaylin Colegrove and Kale Keigley posted 11 and 10 points respectively for the Lady Cats (11-2)
The seventh-grade team upped its record to 10-3 with a 25-19 win.
Gabby Lindsey notched nine points to pace the Lady Cats.
