The boys and girls track and field teams from Fairbanks and Triad began competition in the Ohio Heritage Conference meet on Monday.
Competition is being held at West Liberty-Salem High School.
Panther athletes competed in the field event finals.
Claire Baker claimed the conference championship in the girls high jump with an effort of 4-10.
Allie Boyd was fourth in the girls pole vault at 7-6.
Ciara Andrews was sixth in the girls discus with a toss of 82-1, while Jackson Burns placed sixth in the boys long jump with a leap of 16-9.
Abby Gardini tied for sixth in the girls pole vault at 7-0.
The Lady Panther 4×800 meter relay team of Sadie Miller, Ava Lahmers, Hannah Niehaus and Claire Berry placed second with a time of 11:22.40.
The FHS boys 4×800 meter relay team was fourth in 9:13.97.
Those runners were Zeke Gingerich, Jack Nicol, Bruce Nisley and Colin Buchholz.
Several Triad athletes also placed during field events.
Awsom Mitchell captured the boys long jump championship at 19-2.25.
Mia LeMay and Arlo Monroe respectively were second and third in the girls discus.
Cayla Eaton was second and Kimber Instine placed fourth in the girls high jump.
Ellie Johnson took fourth-place honors in the girls pole vault.
No other distances were reported for Triad.
The Cardinals’ boys 4×800 meter relay team of Wyatt Robison, Logan Harper, Henry Beaverson and Cohen Millice placed fifth in 9:18.21.
Lady Cardinals who advanced to Thursday’s finals were:
-Eaton: 100 and 300 meter hurdles;
-Valerie Gaier: 100 hurdles;
-Emma Ferguson: 100 meter dash;
-Abbey Overfield, 200 and 400 meter dashes.
